- No explicit or on page intimate scenes, fade to black is allowed, no gratuitous violence, and no swearing.
- Must be scifi, fantasy, mystery or historical or a sub-genre (paranormal fantasy is not allowed).
- No horror or any horror sub-genre. No paranormal romance. No grimdark.
- No protagonists who are demons, witches, vampires, werewolves, ghosts, evil spirits, shifters or furries, etc.
- Must be indie, self-published, or small press.
- Must be PG-13 at most like Star Wars, Princess Bride or the Avengers movie.
